Anti-HER2 ADC refers to a class of antibody-drug conjugates designed to target the Human Epidermal growth factor Receptor 2 (HER2) protein, which is overexpressed in certain cancers, particularly breast cancer. These drugs typically consist of an anti-HER2 monoclonal antibody linked to a cytotoxic payload. The antibody component specifically binds to HER2-expressing cancer cells, facilitating the internalization of the conjugate. Once inside the cell, the cytotoxic payload is released, leading to cell death. This targeted delivery mechanism aims to reduce systemic toxicity compared to traditional chemotherapy.
