Overview

Anti-HER2-CAR-T cell therapy is a type of adoptive cell immunotherapy where a patient's T lymphocytes are genetically engineered to express a Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) specifically designed to recognize and bind to the Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER2) protein. HER2 is a receptor tyrosine kinase often overexpressed on the surface of various solid tumor cells, including those found in breast, gastric, ovarian, colorectal, and lung cancers. Upon administration, these modified T-cells identify and target HER2-positive cancer cells, leading to their destruction and eliciting an anti-tumor immune response. This therapeutic approach aims to overcome the limitations of conventional therapies by providing a highly specific and potent cellular attack against HER2-expressing malignancies.
