The anti-HLRCC-TC1 neutralizing antibody is a discovery-stage biologic agent designed to target HLRCC-TC1, a protein identified as a novel therapeutic candidate in hereditary leiomyomatosis and renal cell carcinoma (HLRCC). HLRCC is an aggressive kidney cancer associated with germline mutations in the fumarate hydratase (FH) gene. Research conducted at the University of Michigan demonstrated that HLRCC-TC1 is specifically overexpressed in HLRCC tumors and other high-risk renal cell carcinomas. In preclinical models, the use of neutralizing antibodies to HLRCC-TC1 significantly inhibited the proliferation of the HLRCC-derived cell line UOK262, validating the protein as a potential target for therapeutic intervention.
