Overview

The anti-HMGN3 monoclonal antibody is an experimental therapeutic agent targeting the High Mobility Group Nucleosome-Binding Domain-Containing Protein 3 (HMGN3). HMGN3 is a chromatin regulator that binds to nucleosomes and influences transcription, replication, and DNA repair. In the context of prostate cancer, particularly the aggressive neuroendocrine prostate cancer (NEPC) subtype, HMGN3 is highly expressed and acts as an enhancer of tumor growth and metastatic spread by promoting epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). The antibody has demonstrated the ability to reduce cell viability in NEPC cell lines (e.g., NCI-H660) in preclinical studies, suggesting its potential as a novel treatment for advanced, treatment-resistant forms of prostate cancer.
