Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Y's AC is developing a monoclonal antibody targeting Interleukin-26 (IL-26), a member of the IL-10 cytokine family. IL-26 is a pro-inflammatory cytokine that is often upregulated in chronic inflammatory diseases and certain malignancies. By binding to and neutralizing IL-26, this therapeutic candidate aims to mitigate inflammation and fibrosis in conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), lung fibrosis, liver sclerosis, and scleroderma. Furthermore, the antibody has demonstrated potential in inhibiting tumor cell proliferation and metastasis, suggesting its utility as an antineoplastic agent. The project is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
