Overview

Anti-human T-cell porcine immunoglobulin (also known as p-ATG or pALG) is a porcine-derived polyclonal antibody preparation obtained by immunizing pigs with human T lymphocytes. Developed by the Wuhan Institute of Biological Products (WIBP) and its subsidiary Wuhan Zhongsheng Yujin Biomedical, it acts as a lymphocyte-depleting agent. The drug specifically binds to various T-cell surface antigens (such as CD2, CD3, CD4, CD8, CD25, and CD45) to induce T-cell depletion through direct cytotoxicity, complement-dependent cytolysis, and opsonization. It is approved in China for the treatment of severe aplastic anemia (SAA), prevention and treatment of organ transplant rejection, graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), and primary thrombocytopenic purpura.
