anti-IFN-β antibody 7859 is a neutralizing monoclonal antibody (clone 7859) directed against human interferon-beta (IFN-β). While Type I interferons like IFN-β are typically associated with anti-viral and anti-tumor responses during acute exposure, chronic exposure in the tumor microenvironment can lead to immunosuppression, T-cell exhaustion, and pro-survival signaling for cancer cells. This antibody is used in research to block these chronic effects, thereby potentially restoring CD8+ T-cell function and enhancing the efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors like anti-PD-L1 and anti-CTLA-4. In preclinical models of endometrial cancer, neutralization of IFN-β with clone 7859 has demonstrated the ability to significantly reduce tumor growth and decrease markers of T-cell exhaustion such as PD-1 and LAG3.
