Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Anti-IL-17B antibody is a monoclonal antibody designed to neutralize the pro-inflammatory cytokine interleukin 17B (IL-17B), thereby disrupting its interaction with the IL-17 receptor B (IL-17RB). Developed primarily by OREGA Biotech in collaboration with INSERM, this therapeutic approach targets the tumor microenvironment and cancer stem cells (CSCs). Preclinical evidence suggests that IL-17B signaling promotes tumor cell initiating capacity and chemoresistance in various malignancies, including breast and pancreatic cancers. By neutralizing IL-17B, the antibody aims to alter the immune microenvironment—specifically affecting natural killer (NK) cells and myeloid sub-populations—and restore sensitivity to chemotherapeutic agents such as taxol.
