Overview

Joincare Pharmaceutical's anti-IL-4Rα monoclonal antibody (also referred to by code names BAF312 or LZW001) is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody designed to target the interleukin-4 receptor alpha (IL-4Rα) subunit. By specifically binding to IL-4Rα, the antibody inhibits the formation of signaling complexes for both interleukin-4 (IL-4) and interleukin-13 (IL-13), which are critical cytokines in the type 2 (Th2) inflammatory pathway. This blockade reduces the downstream production of inflammatory mediators and IgE, making it a potential treatment for various allergic and inflammatory conditions. The drug is currently being developed by Joincare and its subsidiary Livzon Pharmaceutical Group for the treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), with clinical development having reached Phase 2.
