Drug intelligence / Profile preview
An anti-IL-7Rα monoclonal antibody is a therapeutic agent designed to target the alpha chain of the interleukin-7 receptor (IL-7Rα, also known as CD127). By binding to CD127, these antibodies block the signaling pathways of interleukin-7 (IL-7) and, in some cases, thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP), which are critical cytokines regulating T-cell and B-cell development, survival, and activation. This class of therapeutics is being investigated for the treatment of various autoimmune and inflammatory diseases (such as alopecia areata, atopic dermatitis, ulcerative colitis, type 1 diabetes, and multiple sclerosis) as well as hematological malignancies like T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL), where IL-7Rα is frequently overexpressed or constitutively active.
