Drug intelligence / Profile preview
anti-integrin α3 antibody is a preclinical-stage monoclonal antibody being developed by Allosite Therapeutics (formerly 149 Bio) for the treatment of glomerular diseases, including focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) and chemotherapy-induced kidney injury (nephrotoxicity). The antibody acts as an allosteric agonist of the integrin α3β1 heterodimer, specifically binding to the α3 subunit (integrin alpha-3) to enhance podocyte adhesion, cytoskeletal stability, and glomerular basement membrane attachment. By stabilizing podocytes, the antibody aims to prevent podocyte loss and preserve renal function without compromising the efficacy of concurrent cancer therapies.
