Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The anti-integrin alpha3 activating antibody is a novel, first-in-class allosteric agonist monoclonal antibody designed to target and activate the integrin alpha-3 beta-1 (α3β1) heterodimer. Developed by Allosite Therapeutics (formerly 149 Bio), this therapeutic candidate is engineered to enhance podocyte adhesion to the glomerular basement membrane (GBM) and stabilize the actin cytoskeleton. By promoting podocyte retention and preventing cellular detachment, the antibody aims to protect against glomerular injury and reduce albuminuria in progressive kidney diseases, such as focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) and chemotherapy-induced nephrotoxicity.
