Overview

**Anti-KCa3.1 monoclonal antibody** is an investigational biologic designed to selectively block the KCa3.1 channel (encoded by KCNN4), a calcium-activated potassium channel expressed on immune cells like microglia, macrophages, T cells, and B cells, as well as endothelial and epithelial cells. By inhibiting KCa3.1, it modulates Ca2+-dependent signaling pathways, reducing pro-inflammatory cytokine production, immune cell proliferation, migration, and neurotoxic activation while preserving neuroprotective functions like phagocytosis. Developed initially by Tetragenetics and later associated with AbCellera Boston, it targets fibroproliferative, autoimmune, and neuroinflammatory conditions, with preclinical evidence supporting efficacy in models of fibrosis, stroke, rheumatoid arthritis, and pulmonary hypertension.
