The anti-LOXL2 nanobody is a preclinical-stage therapeutic candidate being developed by Yunnan Baiyao Group. It is a single-domain antibody fragment (nanobody) designed to bind and inhibit the activity of Lysyl oxidase-like 2 (LOXL2). LOXL2 is a copper-dependent amine oxidase that plays a critical role in the remodeling of the extracellular matrix by catalyzing the cross-linking of collagen and elastin fibers. Pathological overexpression of LOXL2 is linked to the development of various fibrotic conditions and the progression of invasive cancers. By targeting LOXL2, this nanobody aims to inhibit tissue stiffening and disrupt the signaling pathways that promote fibrosis and tumor metastasis.
