Overview

Anti-LSR mAb is a monoclonal antibody targeting the lipolysis-stimulated lipoprotein receptor (LSR), also known as angulin-1. Developed by researchers at Kochi University and Osaka University, this therapeutic candidate targets LSR, which is a component of tricellular tight junctions and is frequently overexpressed in various epithelial cancers, including epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). The antibody's mechanism of action involves binding to LSR on the surface of cancer cells, which leads to the inhibition of the MAPK/ERK signaling pathway—specifically reducing the phosphorylation of MEK and ERK—and the subsequent induction of apoptosis. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that anti-LSR mAb can reverse platinum resistance in ovarian cancer cells and shows synergistic anti-tumor effects when combined with platinum agents like carboplatin.
