Overview

Anti-LSR monoclonal antibody 16-6 is a monoclonal antibody biologic that targets the lipolysis-stimulated lipoprotein receptor (LSR). LSR is a protein involved in the formation of tricellular tight junctions and is frequently overexpressed in epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC), where its expression correlates with poor prognosis. The 16-6 antibody specifically binds to LSR-expressing cells and is rapidly internalized and trafficked to lysosomes. This property has been leveraged in preclinical research to develop an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) by linking the 16-6 antibody to the cytotoxic payload monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE). The resulting LSR-ADC has demonstrated potent antitumor activity in LSR-positive EOC cell lines and xenograft models. The development of this antibody is primarily associated with the Osaka International Cancer Institute and other Japanese research institutions.
