Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Anti-Ly49F antibody is a monoclonal antibody that specifically targets and binds to Ly49F (killer cell lectin-like receptor, subfamily A, member 6; Klra6), an inhibitory receptor expressed on murine natural killer (NK) cells and a subset of CD8+ T cells. In preclinical research, particularly in mouse models of autoimmune diseases such as lupus nephritis, anti-Ly49F antibody is utilized as a depletion reagent to selectively eliminate Ly49F+ CD8+ T cells (the murine homolog of human KIR+ CD8+ T cells). Depletion of this regulatory T-cell subset has been shown to exacerbate autoimmune manifestations, including increased glomerular IgG deposition and elevated serum autoantibodies, thereby demonstrating the protective, suppressive role of Ly49F+ CD8+ T cells in vivo.
