MBG is known to bind to Na/K-ATPase, affecting cellular processes and initiating profibrotic signaling, which leads to vascular fibrosis and inhibits Fli1, a negative regulator of collagen-1 synthesis. By binding to MBG, this antibody prevents its detrimental effects, thereby reversing vascular fibrosis, restoring vasorelaxation, and improving kidney function.
