Anti-mesothelin CAR-T cells are a type of chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapy that targets mesothelin (MSLN), a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored membrane glycoprotein highly expressed in many solid tumors including mesothelioma, non-small cell lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, and ovarian cancer. This therapy involves genetically modifying a patient's own T cells by introducing a chimeric antigen receptor that specifically recognizes and binds to mesothelin on cancer cells, enabling the T cells to attack the cancer. Clinical trials have shown that anti-MSLN CAR-T cells have a high safety profile but currently demonstrate limited efficacy as monotherapy for solid tumors.
