anti-mesothelin CAR T cells (China Meitan General Hospital) is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy being developed by China Meitan General Hospital for the treatment of mesothelin-positive solid tumors. The therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a CAR that specifically targets mesothelin (MSLN), a cell-surface glycoprotein that is highly expressed in several malignancies, including pancreatic adenocarcinoma, ovarian cancer, and pleural mesothelioma, but has limited expression in normal tissues. Following lymphodepleting chemotherapy with cyclophosphamide, the engineered T cells are re-infused into the patient, where they recognize and bind to mesothelin-expressing tumor cells, leading to T-cell activation and subsequent tumor cell lysis. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess safety, efficacy, and dose escalation in patients with recurrent or metastatic malignant tumors.
