Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Anti-microRNA-219 locked nucleic acid (anti-miR-219 LNA) is a synthetic locked nucleic acid (LNA) modified antisense oligonucleotide designed to inhibit microRNA-219 (miR-219 / miR-219a-5p). By complementary binding to mature miR-219, it blocks its silencing activity. In preclinical research, anti-miR-219 LNA has been utilized to study the role of miR-219 in various pathological processes, including renal fibrosis (where it preserves ALDH1L2 expression and suppresses fibronectin accumulation) and NMDA receptor-mediated neurobehavioral dysfunction.
