anti-microRNA-23b-3p is an antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) designed to specifically target and neutralize microRNA-23b-3p (miR-23b-3p). In hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), miR-23b-3p is known to promote resistance to sorafenib by modulating cytoprotective autophagy and glutamine metabolism (glutamine addiction). By sequestering miR-23b-3p through complementary base pairing, this anti-miRNA agent prevents the miRNA from silencing its target messenger RNAs, thereby inhibiting the survival mechanisms that allow cancer cells to evade treatment. It is currently utilized in preclinical research to explore miRNA-based therapeutic strategies for overcoming drug resistance and metabolic reprogramming in oncology.
