Anti-mouse interleukin-23 antibody is a research-grade monoclonal antibody used in preclinical studies to neutralize mouse interleukin-23 (IL-23). IL-23 is a pro-inflammatory heterodimeric cytokine composed of a p40 subunit (shared with IL-12) and a unique p19 subunit. This antibody specifically targets the p19 subunit, thereby inhibiting IL-23 signaling without affecting IL-12-mediated pathways. In animal models, it is used to study the role of the IL-23/IL-17 axis in autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, such as colitis, psoriasis, and multiple sclerosis. In the context of drug development, it serves as a surrogate for human anti-IL-23 therapeutics (such as risankizumab or guselkumab) to validate targets and test combination strategies, such as the combination with anti-TL1A being explored by Spyre Therapeutics.
