Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Anti-MUC1 is a preclinical-stage monoclonal antibody (mAb) being developed by Iaso Therapeutics for the treatment of cancer. The antibody is designed to target Mucin 1 (MUC1), a transmembrane glycoprotein that is overexpressed and aberrantly glycosylated in a variety of epithelial tumors, including breast, lung, and pancreatic cancers. MUC1 overexpression is associated with increased tumor cell proliferation, survival, and metastasis. By binding to MUC1, this therapeutic candidate aims to disrupt oncogenic signaling pathways and potentially induce antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) or other immune-mediated mechanisms to eliminate cancer cells.
