anti-MUC4-IRDye800CW is a near-infrared (NIR) fluorescently labeled monoclonal antibody developed for the intraoperative detection and localization of Mucin-4 (MUC4) expressing tumors. The agent consists of a monoclonal antibody specific to MUC4, a transmembrane glycoprotein frequently overexpressed in various adenocarcinomas including gastric and pancreatic cancers, conjugated to the NIR fluorophore IRDye800CW. Upon intravenous administration, the antibody selectively binds to MUC4 on the surface of malignant cells, allowing for real-time fluorescence imaging of primary tumors and metastatic lesions, such as peritoneal carcinomatosis. This technology is intended to assist surgeons in achieving complete tumor resection by clearly defining surgical margins and identifying small or occult metastases that are difficult to detect with standard white-light visualization.
