Anti-murine CD62P refers to monoclonal antibodies, such as the clone RB40.34, that specifically target and inhibit murine P-selectin (CD62P). P-selectin is a cell adhesion molecule expressed on the surface of activated endothelial cells and platelets, playing a critical role in the recruitment of leukocytes to sites of inflammation and the formation of heterocellular aggregates. In preclinical models of sickle cell disease (SCD), inhibition of CD62P helps reduce vaso-occlusive events and organ damage by preventing the adhesion of sickle erythrocytes and leukocytes to the vascular endothelium. This research-grade antibody is often used as a surrogate for clinical P-selectin inhibitors like crizanlizumab to study the pathophysiology of SCD and other inflammatory conditions in mice.
