Overview

Anti-Neu monoclonal antibody refers to a class of monoclonal antibodies that target Neu, the rodent homolog of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2/ErbB2). In preclinical research, these antibodies (most notably clone 7.16.4) are widely used to study HER2-positive breast cancer and tumor immunology in mouse models, as humanized anti-HER2 antibodies like trastuzumab do not cross-react with rodent Neu. These antibodies bind to the extracellular domain of Neu, inhibiting tumor cell proliferation and mediating anti-tumor immune responses through mechanisms such as antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) and T-cell activation.
