Overview

Anti-Nogo-A monoclonal antibody 1 is a research-grade monoclonal antibody developed by the University of Fribourg that targets Reticulon-4 (Nogo-A), a potent inhibitor of neurite outgrowth found in the central nervous system. By neutralizing Nogo-A, the antibody is designed to overcome the inhibitory environment of the CNS, thereby promoting axonal regeneration, compensatory sprouting, and functional recovery after injury. Preclinical studies in rodent and primate models have demonstrated that administration of this antibody can improve manual dexterity following spinal cord lesions and mitigate neuroinflammation in retinal injury models. It is typically administered via intrathecal or intravitreal injection to bypass the blood-brain barrier.
