Overview

Anti-OSMR antibody is a monoclonal antibody targeting the Oncostatin M receptor (OSMR), a component of the IL-6 cytokine receptor family. It functions by blocking the interaction between the ligand Oncostatin M (OSM) and OSMR, thereby preventing the recruitment and dimerization of the co-receptor IL6ST (gp130). This inhibition leads to the internalization and cytoplasmic degradation of the OSMR protein, which significantly reduces downstream JAK/STAT3-mediated oncogenic signaling. Developed primarily for the treatment of aggressive and cisplatin-resistant ovarian cancer, the antibody has demonstrated the ability to inhibit tumor growth, invasion, and metastasis in preclinical models. It also shows potential for broader application in other OSMR-expressing malignancies, including pancreatic cancer, glioblastoma, and stomach adenocarcinoma.
