Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Anti-PAD2 mAb is a chicken-derived monoclonal antibody developed by Pharma Foods International using its proprietary ALAgenе® technology platform. It specifically targets protein arginine deiminase 2 (PAD2), an enzyme that converts arginine residues in proteins to citrulline. Aberrant PAD2 activity and subsequent protein citrullination are linked to the pathogenesis of various cancers and autoimmune disorders. This antibody is designed to bind to a specific epitope on PAD2 with high affinity (nanomolar range) and inhibit its extracellular enzymatic activity. By neutralizing PAD2, the therapy aims to suppress tumor-promoting processes associated with dysregulated citrullination. The drug is currently in the preclinical stage of development for cancer treatment.
