Overview

The anti-PD-1 + IL-12 immunocytokine is a recombinant fusion protein developed by the National Institute of Diagnostics and Vaccine Development in Infectious Diseases (NIDVD) at Xiamen University. This bifunctional molecule is designed to simultaneously block the Programmed Cell Death Protein 1 (PD-1) immune checkpoint and deliver Interleukin-12 (IL-12) directly to the tumor microenvironment. By targeting PD-1-expressing T cells, the immunocytokine localizes the potent pro-inflammatory activity of IL-12 to the site of the tumor, aiming to enhance the activation and proliferation of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) and natural killer (NK) cells while minimizing the systemic toxicity typically associated with recombinant IL-12 therapy. It is currently in preclinical development for the treatment of various solid tumors.
