This is a combination therapy consisting of an anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody (immune checkpoint inhibitor) and nanoparticle albumin-bound paclitaxel (nab-paclitaxel), a chemotherapy agent. The anti-PD-1 antibody blocks the interaction between PD-1 on T cells and its ligands, thereby enhancing T cell-mediated immune responses against cancer cells. Nab-paclitaxel is a nanoparticle formulation of paclitaxel that binds to albumin, improving drug delivery and reducing toxicity compared to standard paclitaxel; it works by stabilizing microtubules, preventing cell division, and inducing apoptosis in cancer cells[2][5][6]. This combination has shown synergistic antitumor effects in preclinical models and improved outcomes in clinical studies for cancers such as non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), and soft tissue sarcoma[3][5][10].
