Anti-PD-1 antibody Fab fragment is a preclinical-stage therapeutic candidate developed by Shandong Huabo Kaisheng Biotechnology. It consists of the Fab (fragment antigen-binding) region of a monoclonal antibody directed against Programmed Cell Death Protein 1 (PD-1). By binding to PD-1 on the surface of T-cells, the fragment blocks the inhibitory interaction with its ligands, PD-L1 and PD-L2, which are often overexpressed by tumor cells to evade immune detection. This blockade restores and enhances the T-cell-mediated anti-tumor immune response. As a Fab fragment, the molecule lacks the Fc region, which may provide distinct pharmacokinetic properties and reduced Fc-mediated effector functions compared to full-length monoclonal antibodies.
