Overview

The anti-PDZ antibody is an experimental monoclonal antibody designed to target the PDZ domain of Tax-interacting protein 1 (TIP-1). TIP-1 is a radiation-inducible protein that translocates to the surface of cancer cells following irradiation, where it plays a significant role in cell signaling and survival pathways. By binding to the PDZ domain, the antibody inhibits the AKT/mTOR signaling pathway, leading to proliferation arrest and increased apoptosis in tumor cells. Preclinical studies conducted at Washington University in St. Louis have demonstrated its efficacy in lung cancer and glioblastoma models, particularly when used in combination with radiotherapy to enhance treatment outcomes.
