Overview

Anti-PODXL mAb refers to monoclonal antibodies targeting podocalyxin (PODXL), a CD34-related sialomucin overexpressed in various cancers, including pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, colorectal cancer, breast cancer, and glioblastoma. PODXL is associated with tumor progression, metastasis, and poor prognosis. While normal tissues like vascular endothelial cells and renal podocytes also express PODXL, researchers have utilized CasMab technology to develop cancer-specific anti-PODXL mAbs (such as PcMab-6, PcMab-60, and humanized versions like humPcMab-60) that selectively target cancer-specific glyco-epitopes on PODXL, sparing normal tissues. These antibodies exert antitumor activity through mechanisms such as antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) and complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC).
