Overview

Anti-Rabies Recombinant Hyperimmune is an investigational biologic being developed by GigaGen (a subsidiary of Grifols) for rabies post-exposure prophylaxis. It is a high-potency recombinant polyclonal antibody therapy composed of thousands of human antibodies that target and neutralize multiple epitopes of the rabies virus. Unlike traditional human rabies immunoglobulin (HRIg) derived from human plasma, this therapy is produced using GigaGen's proprietary platform, which captures and recreates diverse antibody repertoires from vaccinated or convalescent donors in a laboratory setting. This approach aims to provide a more potent and consistent alternative to plasma-derived products for preventing rabies infection after exposure by providing immediate passive immunity.
