Anti-Rift Valley fever virus monoclonal antibodies (also known as the Anti-RVFV two-mAb combination) is a biologic drug candidate being developed by IDBiologics as a medical countermeasure against Rift Valley fever virus (RVFV). The product consists of a combination of two human monoclonal antibodies, including candidates RVFV-268 and RVFV-379, which were originally identified by researchers at Vanderbilt University. These antibodies are designed to neutralize RVFV by binding to the viral surface glycoproteins Gn and Gc, thereby preventing viral entry into host cells. The drug is intended for both the treatment and prevention (prophylaxis) of Rift Valley fever, an arthropod-borne disease that poses a significant epidemic risk in Africa and is considered a potential biothreat agent. IDBiologics is advancing this program under a contract with the United States Department of Defense (DOD).
