Overview
Anti-rotavirus IgY antibody is a chicken egg yolk-derived polyclonal immunoglobulin Y (IgY) developed by IgY-research for the treatment and prevention of rotavirus gastroenteritis. As an avian antibody, IgY provides passive immunity when administered orally, specifically targeting and neutralizing rotavirus particles within the gastrointestinal tract. This mechanism prevents the virus from adhering to and infecting the intestinal mucosa, thereby reducing the severity and duration of diarrhea. This approach is particularly aimed at pediatric populations where rotavirus remains a significant cause of morbidity, offering a stable and non-invasive alternative to traditional therapies.
