anti-SARS-CoV-2 immunoglobulin G

anti-SARS-CoV-2 immunoglobulin G is an investigational polyclonal antibody therapy derived from the pooled plasma of donors who have recovered from COVID-19. This hyperimmune globulin product contains highly purified and concentrated neutralizing IgG antibodies (approximately 98% monomer and dimer forms) targeting the SARS-CoV-2 virus. It is manufactured using a caprylate/chromatography purification process to achieve a neutralizing antibody concentration more than 10-fold higher than that of standard convalescent plasma. Developed by a global alliance of plasma companies (the CoVIg-19 Plasma Alliance), it was evaluated in the Phase 3 ITAC (Inpatient Treatment with Anti-Coronavirus Immunoglobulin) trial for the treatment of hospitalized COVID-19 patients, though the trial did not meet its primary efficacy endpoints.
