anti-SARS-CoV-2 intravenous immunoglobulin (UHS Lahore) is a passive immunotherapy developed by the University of Health Sciences Lahore for the treatment of COVID-19. It consists of concentrated immunoglobulins (antibodies) purified from the blood serum of donors who have recovered from SARS-CoV-2 infection. By providing immediate, exogenous neutralizing antibodies, the therapy aims to reduce viral load and prevent disease progression in hospitalized patients with mild to moderately severe COVID-19. This approach serves as a stopgap measure to provide short-term immunity while the patient's own immune system develops a response, particularly for high-risk patients.
