Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Anti-SARS-CoV-2 siRNA-MNM is an intranasally administered small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic being developed by Interna Therapeutics for the treatment of COVID-19. The drug utilizes Interna's proprietary MNM (Modified Nucleoside-containing Micelle) delivery technology, which is designed to protect the siRNA from degradation and enhance cellular uptake. By targeting a highly conserved sequence within the SARS-CoV-2 genome, the siRNA triggers the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway to degrade viral RNA and inhibit viral replication. This approach is intended to provide a broad-spectrum antiviral effect against various SARS-CoV-2 variants. The candidate is currently in Phase 1 clinical development.
