Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Anti-sclerostin mAb biosimilar is a monoclonal antibody biosimilar candidate under development by Saya Bio. It is designed to target and inhibit sclerostin, a glycoprotein secreted by osteocytes that acts as a negative regulator of bone formation by inhibiting the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway. By blocking sclerostin, the antibody promotes osteoblast activity and bone formation while also reducing bone resorption. The candidate is currently in the cell line development stage (preclinical) for the treatment of bone health disorders, such as osteoporosis, and is a biosimilar of romosozumab.
