Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Anti-SLAMF6 antibody refers to a class of monoclonal antibodies targeting signaling lymphocytic activation molecule family member 6 (SLAMF6, also known as CD352 or NTB-A). SLAMF6 is a homophilic cell-surface receptor expressed on natural killer (NK) cells, T cells, and B cells, and is overexpressed in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) B cells. In preclinical models of CLL and B-cell lymphoma, anti-SLAMF6 antibodies have demonstrated the ability to inhibit tumor progression, particularly when combined with BTK inhibitors like ibrutinib. Additionally, SLAMF6 acts as an immune checkpoint; blocking SLAMF6-SLAMF6 homotypic interactions can reverse CD8+ T-cell exhaustion and enhance anti-tumor immunity. In autoimmune contexts such as lupus nephritis, anti-SLAMF6 antibodies have been studied in vitro to model the disruption of basal tonic signaling and drive the differentiation of stem-like memory CD8+ T cells into cytotoxic effectors.
