Anti-thyroglobulin mTCR-transduced Autologous Peripheral Blood Lymphocytes is a cell therapy designed for its potential antineoplastic activity. It involves harvesting autologous peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBLs) from a patient, which are then genetically modified (transduced) with a retroviral vector. This vector encodes a murine T-cell receptor (mTCR) specifically engineered to recognize and bind to human thyroglobulin (TG) antigen. After transduction, these modified PBLs are expanded in culture and subsequently re-introduced into the patient. The mTCR-expressing PBLs then target and bind to tumor cells that overexpress thyroglobulin, leading to the secretion of cytokines and the lysis of the tumor cells. This approach aims to harness the patient's own immune system to specifically attack thyroglobulin-expressing cancers.
