The anti-Trop-2 antibody-indocyanine green conjugate is a diagnostic imaging agent designed for fluorescence-guided surgery (FGS). It consists of a monoclonal antibody specific for the Trophoblast cell-surface antigen 2 (Trop-2) covalently linked to indocyanine green (ICG), a near-infrared (NIR) fluorescent dye. Trop-2 is a transmembrane glycoprotein that is significantly overexpressed in a wide variety of epithelial carcinomas, including breast, lung, and pancreatic cancers, while showing limited expression in normal tissues. Upon intravenous administration, the conjugate selectively accumulates in Trop-2-expressing tumor cells. During surgical procedures, the ICG component emits fluorescence when excited by NIR light, allowing surgeons to visualize tumor margins, identify micrometastases, and detect lymph node involvement in real-time. This technology aims to improve surgical precision, ensure complete tumor resection, and minimize damage to adjacent healthy structures.
