Overview

anti-UCHL1 shRNA is a gene-silencing therapeutic candidate designed to target and knockdown the expression of Ubiquitin C-terminal hydrolase 1 (UCHL1). In preclinical models of uterine papillary serous carcinoma (UPSC), UCHL1 has been identified as a driver of tumor progression by stabilizing cyclin B1 and promoting cell cycle progression. The shRNA is typically delivered via a lentiviral vector, often under a doxycycline-inducible promoter, to inhibit tumor cell proliferation and reduce tumor burden. Research conducted at the MD Anderson Cancer Center suggests that UCHL1 inhibition, either alone or in combination with paclitaxel, represents a potential therapeutic strategy for aggressive endometrial cancers.
