Overview

Anti-urease IgY is a polyclonal antibody derived from the egg yolks of hens immunized with the urease enzyme of *Helicobacter pylori*. Developed by the Immunology Research Institute in Gifu, this passive immunization agent is designed to target and neutralize the urease enzyme, which is critical for *H. pylori* survival in the acidic environment of the stomach. By inhibiting urease, the antibody interferes with bacterial colonization and pathogenicity, potentially offering a therapeutic or preventive approach for gastritis, gastric ulcers, and gastric cancer. It is typically administered orally and acts locally within the gastrointestinal tract to reduce bacterial load and associated inflammation.
