Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Anti-YFV monoclonal antibodies are a class of investigational biologic therapies designed to target and neutralize the yellow fever virus (YFV). These antibodies typically bind to conserved epitopes on the YFV envelope (E) protein, such as the envelope domain II (E-DII) fusion loop or domain III (E-DIII), which are critical for viral entry and membrane fusion. By blocking these interactions, the antibodies prevent viral replication and infection of host cells. The most advanced candidate in this class is TY014, developed by Tychan in collaboration with WuXi Biologics, which has undergone Phase 1 clinical testing. Other preclinical anti-YFV monoclonal antibodies have been isolated from vaccinated donors by research organizations including the Ragon Institute, MIT, and the University of Kansas, demonstrating potent neutralization and protective efficacy in animal models.
