Overview

Antibody-armored Dendritic Cell Injection is an autologous cell therapy developed by Shanghai Cell Therapy Group for the treatment of solid tumors. This therapy involves dendritic cells (DCs) that have been genetically modified, typically via mRNA electroporation, to express specific antibodies—most commonly targeting immune checkpoints like the PD-1/PD-L1 pathway—alongside tumor-associated antigens. The 'armoring' of the DCs is intended to enhance their natural ability to prime and activate tumor-specific T-cells while simultaneously providing localized checkpoint inhibition to counteract the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. The treatment is administered via multiple subcutaneous injections to facilitate trafficking to the lymph nodes and stimulate a systemic anti-tumor immune response.
