Overview

Antisenilin is a proprietary platform technology developed by Intellect Neurosciences for the generation of monoclonal antibodies to treat Alzheimer's disease and other proteinopathies. The technology is designed to produce antibodies that specifically target the free N-terminus or C-terminus of the amyloid-beta (Aβ) peptide. A distinguishing feature of the Antisenilin platform is that the resulting antibodies do not recognize the Amyloid Precursor Protein (APP), which is intended to avoid potential toxicity or interference with the normal physiological functions of APP. This platform has been the basis for several high-profile clinical candidates through licensing agreements, including bapineuzumab (licensed to Elan and Wyeth, later Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson) and ponezumab (licensed to Pfizer).
